PFW, LA VIE EN ROSE, PFGSTYLE
Do you still remember Edith Piaf singing La Vie en Rose in 1946, at the end of World War II in a devastated France? And do you remember words like “Non, rien de rien / Non, je ne regrette rien / Ni le bien qu’on m’a fait, ni le mal / Tout ça m’est bien égal” coming out of her mouth? The most wonderful and moving voice of the chanson française if surrounded by mystery and doubts. 
But her life as nothing to do with romanticism and magical atmosphere that gravitates around French capital city. In his biography about Edith Piaf, Robert Belleret, journalist at Le Monde, portrays her as a collaborator with the Germans who “went from a party to another one with streams of champaign and ended up high in a brothel”. Still that song remains a symbol of freedom. Sometimes we all hide behind sticks and try to camouflage our true colors. Nothing in life is as pink as we want it to be, but with some black stripes that makes it even more fashionable!

Ve la immaginate Edith Piaf cantare nel 1946 La Vie en Rose? E poco più tardi, alla fine della guerra, in una Francia devastata pronunciare parole come “Non, rien de rien / Non, je ne regrette rien / Ni le bien qu’on m’a fait, ni le mal / Tout ça m’est bien égal”? 
Ma la voce più bella e struggente della chanson française è piena di mistero, di problematiche. La sua vita ha ben poco di magico e nulla, pare, di quell’allure romantica che emana la capitale francese. Una biografia di Robert Belleret, ex giornalista di Le Monde, la racconta come una collaborazionista dei tedeschi che “passava da una festa all’altra tra fiumi di champagne e finiva ubriaca nel bordello”.  

Eppure quella cantante minuta e fragile resta un simbolo di libertà, capace di voli sonori meravigliosi. Ci nascondiamo dietro un ombrello, spesso. E camuffiamo un colore che non abbiamo dentro. Non tutto è rosa, lo sappiamo. Ma contaminato con quel nero che ci attraversa siamo davvero più vicini alla realtà. E, secondo i dettami fashion, anche più alla moda.
